Client Reviews

“Working with Mrs. Khatoon was one of the best parts of preparing for our wedding. She came to our home for private lessons, making every session convenient, fun, and completely personalized!

From the very first lesson, she was incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely invested in making both our first dance and my father-daughter dance feel special. She created choreography that looked elegant and impressive while making it easy to learn, remember, and feel natural on the dance floor. She knew exactly how to build our confidence and tailored everything to our skill level.

By the wedding day, we felt completely prepared, and the dances turned out even better than we imagined. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting them.

If you're looking for someone who is not only an amazing choreographer but also a wonderful person to work with, I couldn't recommend her more highly. She played such a meaningful role in making our wedding day unforgettable.”

“I found Khatoon about two to three years ago through the Nowruz Festival. I was unable to get her contact info then, saying she was performing, but I reached out to the festival organizer to get her contact information, and from there I contacted her directly to arrange private lessons.

I initially attended private sessions at her place, and later, when that no longer worked for me, I asked if she would be willing to come to my home. She graciously agreed, and I’ve been taking private dance lessons with her ever since.

What I truly appreciate about Khatoon is that she is a professional dance teacher in every sense of the word. While she is an engineer by training, she has proper, formal dance training and teaches from a strong technical and foundational perspective. As many Iranians know, most of us can dance to some extent — but Khatoon is not just someone who “dances better than you.” She understands posture, positioning, technique, and foundations at a professional level, and she is very precise about getting things right. I genuinely value that level of care and attention to detail.

That precision also requires patience, and Khatoon has an incredible amount of it. Because she also works with children, she brings that same calm, supportive patience to adult students as well. This has been especially important for me, as I’m left-handed and dominant over my left side, but I struggle with control and coordination on my right side, particularly with hand and arm positioning. She has always worked at my pace, never rushed me, and consistently supported me through those challenges.

Beyond the technical side, I’ve truly enjoyed every session with her. The lessons lift my spirit, boost my confidence, and give me a sense of joy that I didn’t even realize I needed. I only wish life weren’t so busy so I could practice more, because I genuinely love the process and what I’ve learned. The difference is noticeable, especially at parties, when people comment on how well I dance. It’s a wonderful skill to have, particularly as part of our culture.

Right now, we’re working on southern Iranian dance, but I hope to continue learning with her and eventually explore other regional and ethnic dances from different parts of Iran as well.

Khatoon is patient, highly professional, flexible, and very accommodating. She works entirely at the student’s pace and creates a supportive learning environment. On top of that, she’s simply a very kind, likable person, and for me, that human connection matters a lot. Liking your teacher makes the challenging parts easier and the learning experience so much more enjoyable.

I highly recommend Khatoon to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely wonderful dance teacher.“
